Important May 22 Benefit Dinner Update

Dear EDF friends and supporters,

The Eritrean Development Foundation benefit dinner scheduled for May 22, 2003 at the Capital Hilton, Washington, DC, is progressing well. Our goal is to raise over $200,000 toward EDF’s emergency drought relief and the Fred Hollows Intra-ocular Lens Laboratory in Asmara.

Our friends and supporters can help EDF to reach its goal by (a) getting organized in groups of ten people and buying a table at $100 per person ($1,000 per table) (b) buying individual tickets at $100 per person, and (c) spreading the word among your friends, colleagues, neighbors, and your place of worship.

Invitations are being sent and to accommodate those supporters we do not have mailing addresses, tickets at $100 per person are on sale at the ECCC, 600 L Street, NW, Washington, DC. You can also purchase tickets by calling EDF office at 202-783-3276. Tickets will not be sold at the door on the day of the event, please purchase your tickets ahead of time.

Hotel Accommodation

EDF has arranged with the Capital Hilton at 16th and K Streets, NW, Washington, DC, at a rate of $159.00 per night for double or single occupancy (50% of the hotel’s regular rate for single occupancy). You can make your reservations by contacting Melanie Davis at 202-639-5718 at the Capital Hilton. NOTE: The above rate is only available until May 10, 2003.
